Defending My Faith in a World That Questions Everything
I wasn’t always a believer. In fact, for most of my life, I rejected God. I had questions, doubts, and a heart hardened by the struggles I faced. I’ve been through things that made me think, If God is real, where was He when I needed Him most? I didn’t understand. I didn’t want to understand. But then, something changed. I encountered God in a way that left no room for denial. And when I finally opened my heart, I realized the truth had been there all along; I just wasn’t willing to see it.
That’s why I’m writing this. Because I know what it’s like to be on the other side. I’ve seen the debates, the skepticism, the endless questioning of Christianity right here, on SubStack. Open up any platform, and you’ll find people dissecting everything: Jesus, the Bible, faith itself. There’s nothing wrong with asking questions, but what I see more and more isn’t a search for truth; it’s a relentless effort to tear down faith, to dismiss God as irrelevant, and to mock those who believe.
And I have to ask: Why?
What does it hurt to live by biblical principles, loving others, forgiving, walking in obedience, living with purpose? The world is full of “look at me” moments, with people so consumed by themselves that they can’t see beyond their own reflection. But faith in Christ isn’t about self-glorification; it’s about surrender, about living for something greater than ourselves.
I’m not here to argue. I’m not here to prove anyone wrong. Because faith isn’t about winning debates; it’s about walking in truth. And no amount of skepticism, no amount of dissection, will ever change that. The truth of Jesus stands whether people accept it or not. The power of God moves whether people acknowledge it or not.
I know there are those who question faith because they’ve been hurt, because they’ve been let down by people who claimed to represent God. If that’s you, I see you. I was you. But I want you to know that people may fail, but God never does. If you’re questioning, ask with an open heart. Seek truth, not just validation for what you already believe.
And to my fellow believers, stand firm. The world will always have something to say, but we don’t live for their approval. Keep shining your light, keep loving, keep walking in truth. Because at the end of the day, faith isn’t about proving anything. It’s about knowing Who you belong to and never letting go.
Let’s talk; have you faced challenges standing firm in your faith? Have you wrestled with doubts? Drop a comment or message me. Let’s encourage one another in this walk.
